A condition in which half of the diameter of the cell or central pallor region increases is called Hypochromasia. The below picture will also give you a clear view of it.

In this condition, there is a deficiency of iron in the body which decreases the production of hemoglobin and this deficiency of iron could lead to anemia.

Hypochromasia Causes

There could be many causes of it, but below mentioned are some of the main causes: –

  • Vitamin B6 Deficiency
  • Deficiency of Iron in the body
  • Parasitic Infections (hookworm)
  • Lead Poisoning
  • Excessive Blood loss during periods in women
  • Ulcers
  • Gastric Bleeding

These are some of the reported common causes of Hypochromasia.

Hypochromasia Symptoms

We know it is a cell disease so there could be many symptoms associated with it like,

  • Fatigue
  • Tiredness
  • Weakness in the body
  • Sleep Disturbance
  • The skin could also become pale (in some cases)

If you are experiencing these symptoms for a long time (a week or more) then visit a doctor for a checkup.

There are different treatment options available. Let’s discuss them one by one.

Iron Deficiency:

If it is due to the deficiency of iron, then you should take carbonyl iron to fulfill the deficiency of iron. (1)

Vitamin B6 Deficiency:

To fulfill the deficiency of vitamin B6 one must take Vitamin B6 Cyanocobalamin. Some doctors also prescribe Epoetin beta-methoxy polyethylene glycol and Darbepoetin alfa. (2,3)

Parasitic Infection:

When Hypochromasia is caused by the parasitic infections then you should go for a Homeopathic treatment called Cina, which is very effective in treating this.

Blood Loss:

Excessive blood loss is also one of the causes of it and to treat this Ferrum metallicum and Ferrum Phosphoricum should be taken. (4,5)

These both medicines are very beneficial in the production of red blood cells and that’s how the deficiency of blood could be fulfilled.

Along with these treatment options, one must change his lifestyle and habits by adopting a healthier lifestyle like,
